FAQ
-
Because we are usually comprised of about 16 members, The Nor'easters is a highly competitive group; however, you don't have to be a musical genius or the next American Idol! Everyone should audition because you never know what we're looking for in any particular semester!
-
Yes! We allow and encourage students from colleges and universities in the greater Boston area to audition for us.
-
Absolutely! Most people audition for several groups. If you are invited to callbacks for more than one group, you might be asked to share which (if any) group you have a preference for. You will ultimately only be able to select one group to join!
-
We usually rehearse every Sunday, Monday, and Thursday from 7 - 9 pm, though rehearsals may be added or moved to prepare for performances or accommodate members' schedules. We have a lot of fun during these rehearsals, but we also stay productive and motivated. The commitment level is high, but it doesn't prevent you from doing other activities!

If you can not make our auditions in person, we still encourage you to send in a video audition! Please provide us a 60 second a cappella cut (verse/chorus) of any song that shows off your voice, as well as a set of scales in 5 note patterns that go up to the top of your range and down to the bottom of your range on any syllable you prefer. They can be in two separate videos, and you can send your videos to our email, noreasters.acappella@gmail.com! Please have the video sent before in person auditions are complete.
